OCEANVILLE (GALLOWAY TWP.), NJ (August 28, 2012) – The Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton College is pleased to announce the exhibition Feast for the Eyes: The Art of Food September 14, 2012 – January 13, 2013.
In Feast for the Eyes sixteen artists present their interpretations of food not merely as sustenance, but as cultural expression, a source of comfort, obsession, a symbol of prosperity and cause for celebration. Food has been the subject of artists across cultures and time from the earliest cave painters to the luxurious still life paintings of the Dutch masters, and larger than life cakes, pastries and other items of mass consumption from the pop art movement of the 1970s.
